What is Statistics ?
Over the past several years, there has been a renewed interest in the understanding and application of Statistics.
In our daily life, we are deluged with figures. Many of this figure are commonly referred to as Statistics. Figures are published
on a wide range of subjects: issues of environmental concerns, states of unemployment, cost of medical care, state of sports
program and many others. In our attempts to understand these issues, numerical facts and figures need to be collected, presented,
analyzed and interpreted. Our day-to-day life will always be confronted with figures and number, hence, the study of statistics
will always play a very important role.

- Statistics was identified solely with displays of data and chart pertaining to economic, demographic and political
situations prevailing in a country.
- It deals with collecting information data, interpreting these data and drawing conclusions about a phenomenon
under study.
-Statistics provides a body of principles and methodology for designing the process of data collection, presentation,
summarizing and interpretation of data and drawing conclusion of inference.
